We are overwhelmed, grateful and happy: the marathon competition at the VCM 2025 is also fully booked. Registration closed on 23 December because the capacity with direct registrations and reserved places had been reached.

We are looking forward to 5 & 6 April 2025 at the biggest Vienna City Marathon ever.
Registration is now closed for all Sunday events.
This applies to the marathon, Wiener Städtische half marathon and Powerade relay marathon. A waiting list has been set up for the marathon and half marathon. - You can find out more in the report below.
In total, there will be around 39,000 registrations for these three Sunday events alone.
Runners from all age groups and especially young people aged 20-30 make up the ‘run’ for the VCM. An exact number and breakdown by competition will only be known once all codes and reserved places have been redeemed.
The participation capacity of the event has been increased in collaboration with crowd science expert Marcel Altenburg in order to provide more runners with a better marathon experience while increasing quality. Nevertheless, the limit was reached earlier than ever before.
VCM Saturday will also be a highlight
The Vienna 5K on the Ringstraße around the city centre attracts many runners. The popularity of the Coca-Cola Inclusion Run and The Daily Mile 800 | 1600 for young runners is extremely pleasing, as is the new ‘Fledermauslauf’ in cooperation with Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna for the youngest runners aged 3-6. This will be fully booked early due to the limited closing times and space available in the finish area.
Waiting list Marathon and Wiener Städtische Half Marathon
- If reserved starting places are returned by companies, travel agencies and charity organisations, we will pass them on to runners on the waiting list. This is an ongoing process that will give you the chance to get a starting place until February 2025.
- Companies, travel agencies and charity organisations can continue to use their reserved starting places until the agreed date.
- Issued voucher codes for the Wiener Städtische Half Marathon can also continue to be used until the expiry date. Redeem the code via the waiting list. The starting place will then be confirmed within a few working days.
Powerade Relay Marathon
- Issued voucher codes for the Powerade Relay Marathon can still be used until the expiry date. Please contact our team at office@vienna-marathon.com for this.
- There is NO waiting list for the Powerade Relay Marathon.
