Vienna Symphony Orchestra

The renowned classical orchestra motivates at the VCM:
Get ready for Vienna's marathon sound!

The Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Vienna's classical orchestra, provides motivation with a special VCM playlist, a hotspot at the Lusthaus, and the newly composed VCM fanfare.

The Blue Danube Waltz
At the waltz world record attempt on April 6 at 8:35 a.m., we will dance to Johann Strauss's "Blue Danube Waltz" before the start. All runners will also begin their race accompanied by this music, in an original recording by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

Lusthaus & Playlist
From the start at Reichsbrücke to the finish at Burgtheater, there are 50 cheering stations, musical groups, and cheering zones. One special hotspot is at Lusthaus, where you’ll be greeted with a specially curated playlist from the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, motivating you for the final nine kilometers. Strauss, Beethoven, Symphony Jazz, Conchita Wurst—the pieces full of energy, tempo, and Viennese spirit showcase the full spectrum of this outstanding orchestra. These are already available for your training runs.

VCM Fanfare

A special highlight we look forward to: The premiere of the VCM fanfare at the Vienna City Marathon 2025. Specially composed and recorded by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, it will be played during award ceremonies and special moments. Stay tuned!
