Join in for the waltz world record attempt

Sunday, 6 April, 8:35 am: Yes, we're waltzing!

Shortly before the start of the Vienna City Marathon, we set an example for music, movement and community - with the world's biggest waltz dance! The ‘Danube Waltz’ by Johann Strauss, in a recording by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, will be played and we will dance together in three-four time.

When: Sunday, 6 April, 8:35 am

One minute of waltz magic

Where: Vienna City Marathon start area

Wagramer Straße, in front of the Reichsbrücke
In the starting blocks and wherever you are!

Together, led by dance professional and choreographer Thomas Kraml, we will conjure up an unrivalled atmosphere in the field of runners.

Our goal: 2025 couples in three-four time.

Will we even break a world record at the Reichsbrücke?

Whether as a couple, solo or with your fan club - just turn in waltz step, smile and enjoy!

A waltz world record in the city of music, to the world-famous ‘Danube Waltz’ right next to the Danube - that's only possible at the VCM! Be there and be part of this unique moment!

Together with Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna, we will be celebrating the 200th birthday of waltz king Johann Strauss with this record attempt. The waltz dance will be certified by the Austrian Record Institute. The figure of 1,966 waltzing couples should be surpassed.
