Your Start on VCM Race Sunday

All information for a smooth start on VCM Sunday
To ensure we create a fantastic running experience together, you will find all the details about the start area for Sunday, April 6.

Key Information

  • Until March 10, you can check and adjust your target time in your VCM account.
  • If necessary, change your target time – only realistic times!
  • Fast runners (3:25 marathon and 1:45 half marathon) must upload proof of performance by March 10.
  • Without proof, you will be assigned to a later starting block.
  • You will be assigned to a starting block from A to F based on your indicated target time.
  • No subsequent changes to your starting block are possible, neither online nor at the Expo.
  • Starting blocks will be checked on site.
  • Timing starts only when you cross the starting line (net timing).

Starting Blocks

  • Each block has a distinct colour and is marked with coloured beach flags.
  • The front of your bib number displays the letter of your starting block (A to F) and a dot in the colour of your block.
  • The back of your bib number includes the starting block plan.
  • The entrance to your starting block is always at the rear end of the respective block.
  • Sometimes, runners with similar target times are placed in different blocks. This is because all start blocks should be of equal size.
  • Toilets are also located across the starting area and also inside the starting blocks.

  • Block A 9:00
  • Block B 9:06
  • Block C 9:13
  • Block D 9:19
  • Block E 9:26
  • Block F 9:33
The starting procedure ends at 9.40 am. No participation is possible after this time.

Arrival | Subway Stations

The start is located on Wagramer Straße, accessible via subway line U1.

Use U1 station "Alte Donau"
  • if you start in starting blocks E or F
  • if you want to drop off a baggage bag, regardless of your starting block
  • For starting block C: Go through Kratochwiljestraße directly to the block entrance.
Use U1 station "Kaisermühlen / Vienna International Centre"
  • if you start in starting blocks A B C D and do not want to drop off a baggage bag.
  • For starting blocks B and D without baggage drop-off: Take the subway exit "Donau-City-Straße" to reach your start block through the underpass.

Baggage

Last baggage drop-off 8:30 AM
The baggage trucks are located at the rear end of the start lineup. 
No liability for loss or theft. Leave valuables at home.
