The 5-km run produced a thrilling sprint to the finish with ex-aequo scoring for the former marathon state champions Mario Bauernfeind and Martin Mistelbauer in 15:07 minutes ahead of Andreas Vojta, who incorporated the run into a longer training programme in 15:12 minutes.
Lisa Oberndorfer made a successful comeback after a long break due to illness to win the 5km in 16:51 minutes, as did obstacle specialist Lena Millonig in second place in 17:00 minutes, who was competing for the first time since June following an ankle injury.
