We celebrate the fourth anniversary of Eliud Kipchoge's fantastic sub-two hour marathon on 12 October.
VCM Tribute to Eliud - 4th edition
Run as far as you can in 1:59:40.2 hours. Alone or in a team with 2-4 people. Exactly at the place where Eliud finished his fantastic race. In Vienna, on the Prater Hauptallee.

Start: Prater Hauptallee / Meiereistraße area
Route: Prater Hauptallee towards Lusthaus and back (shuttle course)

Running fun in a team
At the VCM Tribute to Eliud you can split the time and run the race as a team. Find friends for a relay team. Ask your family and colleagues. A team consists of two, three or four people.
You can take turns as you like. Who runs which distances and how often you change is entirely up to you.
Participants, fans and friends create a great atmosphere!
Each team will receive a start number with RFID chip and start number band. The start number must be handed over each time.
Bonus for VCM participants
If you are registered for the 41st Vienna City Marathon 2024 (Marathon or Wiener Städtische Half Marathon), you have the possibility to participate in one (1) VCM preparation race of your choice for free, as long as starting places are available. We reserve a contingent of free starting places for each run. Specifically at the VCM Tribute to Eliud or at a race of the VCM Winter Run Series or at one of our partner races in Austria.

A magical moment that inspires
On 12 October 2019, Eliud Kipchoge ran into the history books and our hearts in the world's first marathon under two hours. The Vienna City Marathon, as local organiser, together with an international team of experts, made this race, the INEOS 1:59 Challenge, a reality. Therefore we celebrate the 4th edition of the VCM Tribute to Eliud and celebrate this spirit with you and all running enthusiasts.
Two hours of motivation & atmosphere
Look forward to the great atmosphere in the Prater Hauptallee. You will run on a 2 km shuttle course and will always be surrounded by other runners and fans. At the starting point, which you will pass every two kilometres, you will see and hear the original video of Eliud Kipchoge's run at the INEOS 1:59 Challenge. Goosebumps!
